WE ARE

FIRST LOVE CHURCH COVINA

Don’t let your past dictate your present because God has redeemed you for a future.

Redemption: the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil; the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt.

Who we were: practicing sinners; people who chose ungodly pursuits and pleasures, outlaws, adulterers, sexually immoral, murderers, criminals, thieves, liars, deceivers, unkind, self seeking and prideful.

Who we are: A new creation with a new purpose, sinners who choose not to sin by the power of His Holy Spirit, people saved from eternal separation from God, people who seek truth, people who heal, people who build up others, people who worship the only true God with all of our soul, mind and strength. We are people who love because He first loved us. We are the redeemed!

THE

VISION

A fresh start because truth, transformation because love and new purpose because Christ.

THE

MISSION

We labor to bring the Gospel's life and power into communities everywhere,
not forsaking the lost, the broken or the outcast.

WE BELIEVE

All Scripture

is God breathed

We believe that the Old Testament and the New Testament scriptures are the infallible Word of God. We believe, in their original writings, the scriptures were textually inerrant. We believe the message as part of the 66 books of the Canon have been wholly preserved and the same message translated through the ages has not been compromised.

2 Tim 3:16-17; Is 28:13-14; Nehemiah 8:8; 2 Cor 2:13; Heb 4:12

WE BELIEVE

One True God

living and infinite

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son of God and Holy Spirit. We believe God as revealed in Holy scripture as three distinct persons who are equal in essence, glory and power; the first cause.

Gn 1:1; John 10:30; Heb 1:3

WE BELIEVE

Jesus

was born of a virgin

We believe Jesus was conceived, as prophesied in the Old Testament, by the power of the Holy Spirit through Mary who was a virgin. He disrobed His divine nature and He became fully man, He led a sinless life, He performed supernatural miracles, He was crucified on the cross under Pontius Pilate, He died and was raised to life three days later in power and is now forever seated at the right hand of God and we anticipate His bodily return to this Earth to set all things right.

Mt 1:23; Heb 7:26; 1 Peter 7:22; Acts 2:22; Acts 10:8; 1Cor 15:3; Mt 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor 15:4; Acts 2:33; Phil 2:9-11; Acts 1:10-11

We believe

Holy Spirit

is God and is our Helper

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Helper Jesus promised that would come to dwell in all who believe, before He ascended to the right hand of God. We believe Holy Spirit is the very Spirit of God and in us He enables us to walk in the same power that rose Christ from the dead.

John 6:13; John 14:16-17; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:26

We believe

All have sinned

and fall short of the Glory of God

We believe that the disobedience of man in the garden toward God caused man, who was perfectly created, to fall from our original state. All creation inherited the penalty of this disobedience and is now subjected to sin and death. We were designed for eternity and its this original state that God has set out to redeem us for.

God has reconciled us back to Himself through the sacrifice of His own Son, Jesus.

Rom 3:23; Acts 3:19; Acts 20:21; Eph 2:1-3; Eph 2:8-9; 1 John 2:2; John 3:16; Mt 11:28; Rev 22:17

We believe

The Biblical

order of the Church and all things

We believe the role of pastoral leadership over a Church has been appointed to qualified men as instructed by Paul and ordained by God in scripture.

We believe man and woman are equally loved by God, created with signature qualities that help define the importance of our uniquely different roles but join in the same missional purpose: to serve God, to Glorify God, to worship God.

We believe in one church body with One Head of the Church (Christ Jesus).

Call on the lord and be

SAVED.

God in heaven, I confess that Jesus is your Son and He came to save me and I receive Him as my Lord and Savior. I am a sinner, I am weak and I need your help. I need you to change me. I will follow you for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
